Marshall Innovations

At Marshall Innovations, sustainability guides how we source and supply products for the New Zealand construction industry. We recognise that the materials we provide—and how they are made, packaged, and distributed—can impact both the environment and our communities. Our focus is on reducing that impact while supporting buildings that are durable, safe, and responsibly built.

Responsible Sourcing

We work with global manufacturers who share our focus on sustainability, transparency, and responsible production.

Our approach includes:

  • Choosing suppliers with strong environmental and social governance practices (including, where applicable, ISO 14001 environmental management certification)
  • Supporting manufacturing that prioritises reduced emissions, resource efficiency, and responsible material selection (with some suppliers operating partially or fully on renewable energy)
  • Working with supply chains that meet international labour, safety, and human rights standards

When considering new products, we look beyond performance to factors like lifecycle impact, embodied carbon, and long-term environmental value.

Environmental Impact and Resource Efficiency

When considering new products, we look beyond performance to factors like lifecycle impact, embodied carbon, and long-term environmental value.

  • Supporting products and systems designed for durability, recyclability, and a reduced environmental footprint
  • Encouraging circular practices such as reuse, recycling, and minimising landfill waste
  • Working toward lower-impact packaging solutions and reduced material consumption

The construction industry contributes significantly to landfill waste, and we’re working to be part of the solution through smarter product selection and supply.

Product Stewardship

For us, sustainability includes what happens throughout a product’s life—from installation through to end of life.

Marshall Innovations aims to:

  • Provide products that contribute to high-performance, energy-efficient buildings, including solutions that support mass timber and other sustainability-focused construction methods
  • Support responsible installation and end-of-life disposal practices
  • Promote materials and systems that enhance building longevity and reduce maintenance cycles

Ethical and Social Responsibility

We hold ourselves and our supply partners to high ethical standards, including:

  • Fair and safe working conditions across all levels of the supply chain
  • Compliance with environmental and labour regulations
  • Commitment to transparency and continuous improvement

We believe responsible business practices help build trust with our customers, industry partners, and communities.

Continuous Improvement

Sustainability is an ongoing commitment, and we’re always looking for ways to do better.

We continuously review our operations, products, and partnerships to:

  • Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact
  • Set measurable sustainability goals
  • Align with evolving industry standards and expectations

It’s part of day-to-day decision-making across the business from procurement to product development and logistics.

Looking Forward

We’re committed to helping shape a more sustainable future for the New Zealand construction industry. By partnering with responsible manufacturers and continuously improving our practices, we aim to deliver solutions that support our customers and reduce environmental impact.
